Volunteer Crowdfunder Campainger

Anna Evans

Growing up in rural mid-west Wales gave me a passion for the natural environment and a desire to protect it. I’m passionate about addressing injustice, animals lack a voice in decisions that affect their survival, it’s our responsibility to advocate for them.

My work with Conservation Without Borders focuses on the crowdfunding campaign prize draw and exploring potential social media ideas to promote this. Raising awareness and funds is vital for CWB to carry out its critical projects, I’m eager to collaborate to build connections, secure prizes, and open new avenues for fundraising.

Why is this important?

aving grown up surrounded by woodpeckers, cuckoos, and swallows even nesting above my window—I’ve witnessed firsthand the beauty and fragility of nature. Moving to urban environments I saw the alarming reality of biodiversity loss, and the silencing of once-familiar songs.

What migratory species inspires me?

Cuckoos! Closely followed by starlings, their famous murmurations in Aberystwyth are breathtaking. The decline of species like cuckoos, vital to ecosystems yet struggling due to habitat loss resonates with me. Their incredible journey to Africa has been a source of fascination and inspiration.

Why the photo?

Hiking through the temperate rainforests of Snowdonia, reminds me of the “what” and “why” behind conservation. Temperate rainforests are the rarest type of forest.
