Ever since sharing a stage with Sacha at Climate Action Northeast in Newcastle a few years’ ago, Isabella Tree has been desperate to get Sacha down to Knepp to talk about her extraordinary adventures.
Known as the ‘human swan’ Sacha flew a paramotor from the Russian Arctic to the UK, following Bewick swans along their migration, crossing 11 countries to discover why their numbers were in decline and rally support to save them. Her story, illustrated with stunning photographs, is one of astonishing bravery and hope for our planet.
Following a near-fatal accident Sacha’s bravery and passion are undimmed. She continues her work as UN ambassador to the Bonn Convention on migratory birds and is the founder and CEO of ‘Conservation Without Borders’.
She’s an inspiration and her beautifully illustrated talk is unforgettable.
Ticket price includes a glass of bubbly on arrival and three-course set dinner.
The South American Bird Fair is the most important of its kind on the continent and is held every year in a different country. The Fair is a meeting with many dimensions that includes birding (in various ecosystems depending on the host country), workshops with specialists from around the world, stands (with optics, equipment, books and guides, NGOs, art, etc.), talks, forums and symposiums, and many exchange and growth activities in this activity that is growing throughout the continent.
Not too late for nature: Biodiversity and the UN Sustainable Development Goals
Sacha will be talking at this a free, online event for thought leaders, corporate representatives, students, investors, government, and NGOs to explore issues, gain practical insights and be inspired to take action in support of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Bird migration is one of the great wonders of the natural world and the Spurn Peninsula on Yorkshire’s East Coast is arguably the best place in Britain to witness this spectacle. This fantastic festival has something for everyone – walks, talks, stalls, food, and hopefully lots of birds for you to see.
Sacha will be hosting a free online webinar with prominent female conservationists. In this free event we will cover topics such as: Where in the world are women missing in conservation? On the front line? In decision making roles?
Why is it a problem?
And what can we collectively do about it?
This event is for women in conservation around the world to discuss their experiences, provide tangible evidence and share solutions. A panel of influential and inspiring women will talk about their journey, while attendees are encouraged to listen and share their experiences. Join us, be heard and help create change.
In collaboration with Forestry Land Scotland, RSPB and Upland (Amy Marletta), Sacha will be the keynote speaker at this conference.
Artful Migration is an artist-in-residence programme which supports artists to create work informed by wildlife, the natural world, the environment, and climate change.
Sacha will be interviewed by wildlife presenter Mike Dilger at the WOMAD Festival. She will be talking in The World of Words Tent - a beautiful canvas marquee, nestled in the shade of the arboretum. It's the place to sit down, relax and enjoy fascinating talks, interesting debates, inspirational authors, and much more.
