Sacha Dench, Ambassador for the UN's Convention on Migratory Species (aka ‘the human swan’) will fly around Britain in a wind and green electricity powered paramotor, attempting two Guinness World Records.
LIVE
Our campaign will involve Sacha Dench (aka ‘the human swan’) attempting something that has never been done before – a 3000+ mile circumnavigation of Britain in a specially adapted, green electricity powered paramotor. Because she can take off and land almost anywhere, she and the team will be landing to recharge and rest with the interesting and inspirational people around the country, the ones can show us exactly how climate change is changing our country, and what we can do about it.

BEHIND THE NUTS & BOLTS
Designing and building the electric paramotor has been no small feat. Boasting 40+ minutes of flight time with each battery Sacha will be able to take off and land almost anywhere on the journey circumnavigating the coast of the UK.
This journey will be a first in history, Sacha and the team will be landing to recharge and rest with the interesting and inspirational people around the country, the ones can show us exactly how climate change is changing our country, but also show us what we can do about it.
Kate is Head of Geography at a large comprehensive school in London. As well as being a geography teacher she works with a wide range of organisations to create resources to help teach the very best possible geography. Kate has always been passionate about going beyond the curriculum and providing opportunities for students to get involved in projects, competitions and trips. She was inspired to get involved with the Round Britain Climate Challenge for this very reason- there is so much for students to learn from this journey.
What is the Round Britain Climate Challenge education package?
As the Round Britain Climate Change takes place, the expedition team will be working with Kate to produce inspiring, engaging and interactive resources for teachers to use in the classroom. Twice a week, Kate will interview the expedition team to find out where they've been, what they've seen and what they've learnt about climate change. Students will be able to submit their own questions for the team to answer. These short videos will be freely available online and perfect for use in form time or lessons.
As the journey progresses, students will be invited to take part in a competition to answer the following question: How could the UK led the green revolution? Using what they've learnt from the journey, students will be asked to produce an excellent piece of work to answer this question. Excitedly, the winning entries will be taken to COP. Finally, after the journey, the professional footage, incredible stories and lessons learnt will be combined into a set of resources to aid the teaching of climate change.
