Steve runs his own business, which works internationally in the field of blast protection, offering consultancy in relation to a wide range of blue chip, high profile facilities, headquarters and critical infrastructure. Alongside, he has worked on numerous projects for well-known adventurers including Ran Fiennes (at BAe he built the kevlar amphibious sleds used for his attempts to reach the North Pole unsupported) and Rosie Swale-Pope and, of course, our own Sacha Dench (he provided the ground and media support crew selection and assisted with heated clothing coordination)! He himself has completed extensive long distance treks in mountain ranges across Europe. Steve has spent the last seven years as a school governor (during which time the school has gone from “requires improvement” to “good, with outstanding leadership”).
